Tour description:

From the small car park in Aschenau near Froschsee on hiking trail no. 26, a good 10 m ascent to a fork in the road, here turn right onto a forest road and after approx. 150 m turn left. At the fork in the road, continue left and fairly flat to the mountain rescue hut on Rossgassenboden. The further ascent to the Kienbergsattel is now clearly defined by the so-called "Kienberg descent". It touches on the Rossgasse and leads above the Endres- Diensthütte to a path fork just before the saddle. To the Rauschberg, path no. 2 leads flat into the Rauschbergalm basin and behind it steeply to the Kammhöhe. There you turn left to the mountain inn and then along a steep slope to a saddle where you enter Rossgasse. The Rossgasse requires good avalanche assessment skills, especially after heavy snowfall! The challenging descent through the Rossgasse, which is lined with high rock faces and is both scenically and ski-technically classy, is predetermined by the terrain. Many a person has sweated blood in this “hell channel” from which there is no escape as far as Rossgassenboden.
