Circumnavigate the Rauschberg massif on the trail of the bear and enjoy typical alpine snacks.
Tour description:
You can hike up the Rauschberg (1,645 m) or take the train. The Ruhpoldinger local mountain can also be wonderfully circumnavigated by bike and the landscape is particularly attractive. You cycle mainly on quiet asphalt and gravel paths. Above all, the descent from the Reiteralm in the direction of the Schwarzachen Alm is really fun and requires a good deal of skiing ability. A hearty snack is already waiting there as a reward. Incidentally, Bavaria's last bear was killed in the Schwarzachen Almen area in 1835. If you have a little more time, you can still visit the Holzknechtmuseum in the Laubau near Ruhpolding.
The woodcutters' museum (Laubau) offers fascinating insights into the life of hardship and the dangerous work of the woodcutters (lumberjacks, foresters) in the former saline region of Traunstein. On the large outdoor area, you will feel like you have been transported back to a bygone era in the lovingly prepared wooden rooms, the original workshops and through interactive stations: www.holzknechtmuseum.com
