Tour description:

On the tour over the ovens to the sunny high moor of the Röthelmoosalmen, everyone will be amazed. This is because there is a lot to discover at the 16 stations of the mountain forest adventure trail, not just for children: sorting gravel, identifying trees, bird calls and animal tracks or trying out the wood drift yourself. The adventure trail was developed and designed to bring people and nature closer together again. And where could that be better than here in the dense mountain forest, on romantic paths and through the alpine pastures that are still traditionally used for animal husbandry? A stop at the fantastically located and managed Dandl- or Langerbauer Alm goes without saying.

Tips for this tour

Right at the starting point in Urschlau is the small pilgrimage church of Maria Schnee, built during the Thirty Years' War in 1631 to appease Our Lady. It's not just a special place - when a thunderstorm comes up, the bells are still traditionally rung here to drive away the storm. An old custom that has survived to this day.

Between May and October it is essential to stop off at the Dandlalm or Langerbauern Alm. On the Langerbauern Alm, the cream cheese for the snacks is lovingly made in-house every day. Although there are no longer any dairy cows (the milk comes from the neighbors in the alpine pastures), there are plenty of small and large animals to pet, from ponies to cats. Don't be too late for the incredibly delicious Kaiserschmarrn at the Dandlalm - it's usually only available until late afternoon!
